Spring 2011
As I'm snuggling in bed with Naomi the wind chill outside is 30 degrees below 0 and I am starting to think about spring!!! It can only stay this cold for so long right? We are gearing up to photograph some new spring lines this year and I'm so excited as the mailman comes each day with the beautiful new clothing. We have gotton quite creative over the past year with fun places to shoot indoors - hair salon, laundry mat, diner, etc. I would love to come up with some new fun places and some input would be awesome!! Can any of you think of a fun place to shoot some pics indoors? I need to have some light coming in so a window would be great. Please post on the blog or Facebook if you have any ideas. I am thinking I should do some kind of contest for the most creative place or where we shoot the new pieces. Something for FREE!!!!!!! Yippee!!!!!

Hello Kimberly! Love that shot :) Warms us up on this horribly cold winter's day here...
My creative suggestions are:
1) The Old Mills Apartments on Water Street in Appleton - I bet you could rent one of the vacant apartments for 1/2 day shoot - GREAT character, wonderful light, open space
2) Lawrence University - do an 'academic' shoot in the new Campus Center...I know there are rooms to rent out, but one of the main spaces might be nice...
or
in the Theater or Chapel - they could be 'on stage'
3) Pullmans restaurant has that indoor train car - not sure how good the lighting is in that area (can't remember if there is any skylights) - could be fun with a travel theme
4) on the travel theme, gather up some old suitcases and shoot inside the Copper Leaf Hotel downtown Appleton - lots of new character there - love the interior...
5) Movie Theater - do a red carpet rollout shoot - blurred background of marquees and concession stand, etc....
6) If you're open to travel - Tundra Lodge in Green Bay...by the pool - lots of natural light coming in...may be a fun spin on a spring shot with some of the chairs and some fun lemonades or vintage bottled drinks
7) again you would need to travel, but the Domes in Milwaukee - not sure what they are running over the winter - haven't been there in years...but worth checking in to - at least some foliage and lots of natural light...first thought of a flower shop - but not sure how much they would have in their greenhouses - could do something fun at a cool flower shop at the checkout desks or with a cart full of flowers....
Hope these help - have fun and let us know what you pick!!!
